From a neighborhood store to a shared story.
Compare Foods traces its roots to the Peña family’s grocery businesses in Queens, New York. Those neighborhood stores led to a new chapter: the first Compare Foods supermarket opened in Freeport, New York, in 1989.
The brand grew around a simple idea: bring quality groceries, friendly service, and accessible prices to the communities it served.

We accept EBT, WIC, and most OTC cards. Seniors receive a 10% discount on Wednesdays. Place custom cake orders in person at the bakery, where you can discuss designs, sizes, prices, and availability.
